As mentioned earlier, Dr. Cook is writing her novel about her life in her upcoming book set to launch in 2028 titled, " 23 Testimony and ME." In this book, you will learn that she is proud of being a "Southside" Girl. At the age of 14, she relocated to Los Angeles, California from Chicago, Illinois. She is Alumni of Los Angeles High School. She has fond memories of both Chicago and Los Angeles as a child. Currently, she resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. You will hear more about how she missed her loving and supportive family especially her older sister whom she adored when she moved and then welcomed a younger brother. Most importantly, she was welcomed to Los Angeles at that ripe age with open and loving arms from her best friends whom became family. She attributes many of her social skills to these childhood relationships since hanging out on Crenshaw boulevard, Fox Hills Mall, The Beverly Center, Venice and Santa Monica Beach.
Dr. Cook earned her Bachelor's Degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and achieved her Doctoral Degree in Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in downtown Los Angeles. She also received a Masters in Business Administration to increase her understanding of business practices. So, if you know her personally and feel as though some key experiences were not included in this short synapse, then you will enjoy reading her book.
With a heart dedicated to serving underserved communities and empowering people of color, Dr. Cook strives to normalize everyday mental health conversations. Through education and personal resilience, she helps individuals understand that a diagnosis does not define them.
23 Testimony and ME

She shares different aspects of her life that has brought her to the person she is today. Also, readers will be amazed in how she managed her medical situation with the support she received from her loving family and friends. The way that you see Dr. Cook after reading this book may be very different. One perspective provided by a pre-reader noted that Dr. Cook does not look like what she has been through and her passion to help others is connected to God's purpose for her life. The pre-reader added that she gained the ability to self reflect on her own support system.
Dr. Cook survived her medical problem by the love provided by her support system and community resources. The book is designed to help readers understand that Dr. Cook's survival was based on how she educated herself on her medical problem, self determination to survive, open communication with her medical team, family and friends. She had lots of fear and doubt but God carried her through.
